GRNAD OPENING

A deli in my neighborhood printed a big vinyl sign for their opening, with a spelling error. I loved the fact they hung it up anyway. I made a print of the photograph and a replica of the banner, and for my first museum exhibition at The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, the replica banner was hung outside. Several people came into the museum to inform them that there was a word misspelled in the banner, and were then shown the photograph and told the story.
