Indecision on the Moon

Indecision on the Moon, 2001. Audio, 31:35 minutes, played into dark room, dimensions variable.
Indecision on the Moon is a re-edit of the audio recording of the 1969 Apollo 11 moonwalk in which coherent language and sounds have been taken out, leaving only sentences that trail off, fragments of nonverbal language such as “uh,” “um,” and “er,” the sounds of radio static, and so on. The viewer hears the soundtrack in a pitch-black room, a disorienting experience that corresponds to the disorientation that the voices in the soundtrack seem to be experiencing as well.
